  • Around the world we go

Circles of life. . . . Changes that come our way just because life doesn't stand still.  Here we are at another cross roads, our youngest has left home and it's empty around here.  I have slept better, have more thought time and and find myself sighing more!  We made it to another mile stone in our lives.
Benjamin made it to Russia, not without a few bumps in the road, like leaving one carry on at the security check point in LA! and traveling alone! Not to mention higher blood pressure for his mother!....(no worries it's back to normal now!)   This is a dream come true for him, as he has had a love  of  "mother Russia" as he call it for some years now....and it is a dream come true for us as well as we know that God will use this in his life to grow and mature him.
Today I was praying and wondering why before I travel, I get what I have started calling "travel anxiety"....why can't I be more confident, self sufficient, know how to do all I need to do?  Then in my time of reflection this morning the Lord brought me along in my reading to Mark 10 and the blind man, Bartimaeus....despite the rebuke of others, he kept calling out to Jesus, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"  I believe we don't achieve all we would like, because we need to stay off balance and have a great need to cry out for mercy.  If I could do all I want, would I be prideful and not cry out as often?  Would I not  partner with others who are gifted in those areas?  Community is an amazing aspect to our lives, walking through the ups and downs of relationships, working out our hurts and needs, caring for others, without a thought of ourselves.  All through scripture we are encouraged to love others & encourage them daily.  I am so blessed by friends and family who use their gifts, strengths and weaknesses to touch me, often without being aware of it.  So thank you, for being part of my life and sharing your journey with me.

  • new beginnings

Here's to starting something new!  I thought I had written something out. . . but being new it didn't do what I had hoped it would!  so here's to staying young. . . doing something for the first time, and living to tell about it.  For some of you this space age stuff is no big deal. . . . for me it is like a journey to outter space and I have no idea what to pack for this jorney!@#  so glad there is grace! I am excited about this even though somewhat fearful.

This has been a year of other first times.....having friends (clients) over 90 years old!  Two sons getting married in the same summer!  News of becoming a grandmother. . . . or a "nana"! saw the baby today, via altra sound! ! ! !  yea....creation of new life! wow!   Almost an empty nest. . . and decorating new spaces!

So hear's to learning new things!
